Strenx
High-strength structural steel manufactured by SSAB, enabling lighter yet stronger attachments.
Strenx is SSAB's range of high-strength structural steels with yield strengths from 700 to 1300 MPa. Unlike wear-resistant steels (Hardox), Strenx is optimized for load-bearing applications where strength-to-weight ratio is critical.
In excavator attachments, Strenx is used for:
- Main body structures (reduced weight, maintained strength)
- Quick coupler frames
- Boom and stick reinforcements
- Lifting eyes and mounting points
Common grades in attachment manufacturing:
- **Strenx 700**: 700 MPa yield strength
- **Strenx 900**: 900 MPa yield strength, for high-stress applications
- **Strenx 1100**: 1100 MPa, for extreme weight reduction
By using Strenx, attachments can be 20-30% lighter while maintaining or improving structural integrity.
