Weight Class
Excavator size category based on operating weight, determining compatible attachment sizes.
Weight class categorizes excavators by their operating weight (including tracks, counterweight, and fuel). This is the primary factor in determining which attachments are compatible.
Standard weight classes:
- **Mini (2.5-6T)**: Compact excavators for tight spaces
- **Midi (6-12T)**: Versatile mid-size machines
- **Standard (12-30T)**: General construction workhorses
- **Heavy (30T+)**: Quarry, mining, heavy demolition
Why weight class matters:
- Determines hydraulic flow available
- Sets maximum attachment weight
- Defines pin spacing for mounting
- Affects working envelope and reach
Matching rules:
- Attachment weight typically 15-25% of carrier weight
- Hydraulic requirements must match carrier capability
- Pin configuration must match or use adapter
Sieruta manufactures attachments for all weight classes with guaranteed fitment specifications.
